Casual Connect: Indie Prize London Finalists, Western Europe (Part 2)

In the next several days we’ll be continuing to outline all the talented finalists who will be appearing at Indie Prize as part of Casual Connect London (May 28-30). We’ve got more than 90 participants coming to the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, and a large swath of them come from Western Europe. Demoniaca: Everlasting

Demoniaca is a dark, gothic pixel art action platformer that combines Castlevania’s style with classic fighting game combat mechanics, like “the King of Fighters.” In fact, it is the first existing Kofvania.

Seers Isle

Seers Isle is an interactive graphic novel, set in a fantasy version of medieval northern Europe, where your choices impact the fate of a group of characters. A group of shaman apprentices set foot on the shores of a sacred island to be initiated to magic. As they progress through the wilderness, looking for the “Seers”, their spirit-guides, they realize they’re not alone. Who is this strange horned woman they are seeing in their dreams?

Mutropolis

A lovely Sci-Fi archaeological post-apocalyptic adventure. In the 25th century, Henry and his nerdy team of archaeologists have been working for years on the abandoned planet Earth, digging treasures with the extremely rare hallmark “Made in China” and watching weird Indiana Jones documentaries.

Chapeau

Chapeau is a multiplayer platformer, where you and your friends each play a quirky hat, challenging each other for objectives while engaging in fast-paced mid-air combat. While fluidly jumping, gliding and dashing through a beautifully crafted level, inspired by Austria’s historic city centers, you will have to try your best to stay ahead. Keep your momentum going to move faster, snatch any objectives away from your competition and avoid falling to the ground by using the environment and the roaming people to your advantage!

OIC: Obviously Inappropriate

Start your career as a game censor and make inappropriate things right. OIC: Obviously Inappropriate Content is a story-rich adventure game set in a fictional Eastern-bloc country called Belkasvenia, where the player, as a game tester, must censor a developing game under government regulation. Developed by Shuaiying ‘Shane’ Hou with inspiration from Papers, Please, Metal Slug, and his real-life experience, OIC explores the origins and development of video game censorship, and how it might affect the video game industry and our society.

Beyond the Sky

Beyond the Sky is a dark adventure which features a unique graphic style and challenging logical puzzles well integrated with the story. The player will play as Selene, a young girl lost in a forest, and will deal with some of the most important themes of life like overcoming prejudices and self-fulfillment. Beyond the Sky is an inner journey of self-discovery.

Portal Mortal

Portal Mortal is a 2D puzzle platformer with pixel art, almost like Super Meat Boy meets Portal. It features solo and multiplayer (both local and online) puzzles, character customization, modding support, la evel editor, and real-time editing.

Atlas’ Fate: Between Light & Darkness

Developer: Baby Robot Games

3rd person stealth game where you take control of a mercenary with the ability to merge with the shadows. This power allows him to move without being seen, move through walls, cushion falls or pass through obstacles. Developed by seven students using a custom engine programmed from scratch in nine months.

Lost Ember

Lost Ember is an atmospheric 3rd person exploration adventure for PC and consoles. With a wolf as your main character and a determined companion at your side, you will unveil a story of loyalty, despair and betrayal that led to the fall of a whole world. With your ability to possess any animal you meet, you explore the world from many different perspectives. From lofty heights as a bird, from underwater as a fish and even underground as a mole.

FuzzBall

Developer: ShadowLair Games

Battle it out with your friends in a 4-player couchplay brawler, where players take on the roles of different FuzzBalls, small animal plushies shaped into balls, and tackle each other to be last player remaining on the playing stage. Players can choose from a selection of 6 different characters at launch, each with their unique abilities featuring different playstyles, and use them to play across 5 modes of play: Vs Mode, Survival, Puzzle Mode, Boss Mode and Campaign. FuzzBall is set to release on consoles towards Summer 2019.
