GDC 2021 summit, VDRC, seminar submissions open

GDC 2021 is now open for submissions for summits, VRDC and seminars from now until Feb. 15. 

GDC will run as a hybrid event, both physically in the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, and virtually from July 19 to 23. Submissions to all categories will be considered for remote and in-person presentations.

Currently, it is accepting submissions for summits in the following categories:

  • Advanced Graphics Summit
  • AI Summit
  • Animation Summit
  • Art Direction Summit
  • Audio Summit
  • Board Game Design Summit
  • Community Management Summit
  • Educators Summit
  • Esports Summit
  • Fair Play Summit
  • Free to Play Summit
  • Game Narrative Summit
  • Independent Games Summit
  • Level Design Summit
  • Machine Learning Summit
  • Math in Game Development Summit
  • Online Game Technology Summit
  • Production Essentials Summit
  • Technical Artist Summit
  • Tools Summit
  • UX Summit
  • Visual Effects Summit

It is important to note the Game Design and Storytelling Fundamentals workshops are being independently curated from this section and are not currently accepting submissions. Submissions can be made on this page.

VRDC, the virtual reality developer’s conference, doesn’t have any specific criteria for its submissions. Submissions, and selection criteria, are listed on the GDC website.

Game career seminars, focused on networking, will be held on July 23 as a one-day event. It is currently seeking submissions from professionals who are willing to share experiences on how to get into the game industry and succeed within it. Submissions can be made here.

GDC Showcase, a separate, all-digital preview event for GDC 2021, will take place from March 15 to 19. Registration is free and its full list of topics and sessions can be found here
